We are proud to announce the launch of Vision 2060, a future-focused podcast supported by the U.S. Department of State’s IVLP Impact Initiative, and managed by the Meridian Center for Global Leadership, Washington, D.C.

Vision 2060 is a strategic dialogue series exploring the policies, technologies, and international collaborations that will define the trajectory of human civilization over the next several decades. The podcast focuses on critical domains including energy resilience, space collaboration, manufacturing scale-up in emerging economies, localization trends, and the global critical mineral supply chain.

A unique element of the podcast is its exploration of humanity's place on the Kardashev Scale—a theoretical framework that classifies civilizations by their ability to harness and utilize energy:

A Type I Civilization can harness all the energy available on its home planet.
A Type II Civilization can utilize the total energy output of its star.
A Type III Civilization can command the energy resources of its entire galaxy.

Earth has not yet achieved Type I status, operating at a fraction of its potential energy capability.

Vision 2060 investigates how policy, technology, industrial advancement, bold entrepreneurial initiatives, and the ingenuity of next-generation innovators—combined with global cooperation—can accelerate humanity’s evolution toward a higher civilization.

The podcast is hosted by Miss Samridhi Shoor, an IVLP CET July 2024 Alumna, who works at the intersection of national security, energy resilience, and space innovation. Through her leadership in advanced materials and high-performance alloy development, she is advancing energy-secure systems and democratized access to critical minerals.

Her work spans across the United States, India, and the United Kingdom, where she actively collaborates with government institutions on national and international initiatives focused on energy, national security, and strategic technological advanement.

Vision 2060 brings together policymakers, scientists, entrepreneurs, and visionaries to chart a roadmap toward sustainable, secure, and technologically sovereign futures.
