Introducing Vision 2060: A Global Dialogue for the Future of Civilization

In an era defined by rapid transformation and high-stakes uncertainty, Vision 2060 emerges as a future-focused podcast that seeks to anchor bold ideas in action. Supported by the U.S. Department of State’s IVLP Impact Initiative and managed by the Meridian Center for Global Leadership, this podcast brings together global thought leaders to explore the policies, technologies, and strategic alliances that will shape human progress over the next several decades.

At its core, Vision 2060 is more than a conversation—it's a platform for reimagining the trajectory of civilization. The podcast addresses urgent global domains including energy resilience, space collaboration, manufacturing scale-up, localization across emerging economies, and the evolving critical mineral supply chain. These aren't just sectors—they're levers of global stability, sovereignty, and sustainability.

A distinctive theme woven into the series is humanity’s place on the Kardashev Scale, a theoretical framework that classifies civilizations by their ability to harness and utilize energy:

  • Type I civilizations master all planetary energy.

  • Type II command the energy of their star.

  • Type III harness energy on a galactic scale.

Currently, Earth has yet to reach even Type I status—operating at a fraction of its full potential. Vision 2060 investigates how we can accelerate toward this benchmark through a confluence of policy innovation, technological advancement, entrepreneurial leadership, and next-generation problem-solving.

The podcast is hosted by Miss Samridhi Shoor, an IVLP CET July 2024 leader, and a prominent voice in advanced materials innovation. Her work—spanning the U.S., India, and the U.K.—focuses on national security, energy-secure systems, and democratized access to critical minerals through the development of high-performance alloys. She collaborates actively with government institutions on both national and international projects tied to energy, space, and strategic technologies.

As we move toward 2060, the podcast seeks to create a space where policymakers, scientists, entrepreneurs, and visionaries converge to build the frameworks for a sustainable, secure, and technologically sovereign future.

The future isn’t waiting. It’s being designed.Welcome to Vision 2060—where humanity dares to think in civilizations, not just centuries.
